Poster_Nyff_2017_Final_webNimbin Youth Film Festival celebrates youth culture and creativity. Each year entries are invited from young people across the New South Wales Northern Rivers Region. Prize money of over $2000 plus  unique trophies are awarded to the best films entered into the festival, as judged by a panel of independent industry professionals.

The competition has 2 sections: Section 1 – 0-18 years old. First prize of  $300 is sponsored by the Nimbin School Of Arts.

Section 2 – 19-24 years old is sponsored by Rainbow Power Company and also has a $300 First Prize.  This section also has a huge $500 Party Safe Award for the best film around partying Safe with alcohol.

There is also a special $400 prize  for the  film with the strongest ‘Sustainability’ theme. This prize is sponsored by the Nimbin Neighbourhood and Information Centre and the Nimbin Environment Centre.

The Screening and Awards is held each year in the Nimbin Town Hall ‘pop-up’ cinema right in the heart of Nimbin. This will take place at 2pm on Saturday 2nd December 2017.

The festival is sponsored by  Lismore City Council, Rainbow Power Company, Nimbin School of Arts, SAE Creative Media Institute, Social Futures, Nimbin Neighbourhood and Information Centre, CDAT, Nimbin Pizza and Trattoria, Nimbin Emporium, Nimbin Hills Real Estate, The Green Bank, Nimbin Apothecary, Armonica, Nimbin Environment Centre and Pot of Gold.
