Terms and Conditions

Entries must be received by 4pm, Friday 16th November 2018 with the official entry form attached.

Email link (from Dropbox, Google Drive etc) and signed Entry Form to nimbinfilm@gmail.com, if under 18 make sure your entry is signed by a parent or guardian. Films must be able to be downloaded and stored on the nyff hard drive with permission given to keep, store and broadcast or stream.

Films submitted to Sections 1 (0-18 years) & 2 (19-24 years) must be no longer than 12 minutes in length.

Films submitted for the Sustainability Award must be no longer than 10 minutes in length.

Films submitted for the Party Safe Award must be no longer than 3 minutes in length, but can be as short as 30 seconds and have a strong theme or message about staying safe at parties, doofs or festivals. It could  be in the format of advert for social media or television.

The Sustainability Award will be awarded to the film with the best message on ecological sustainability and caring for the earth.

Entries must be locally produced by the entrant within the last 12 months. Entrants must reside within the Lismore, Tweed, Byron, Kyogle, Ballina,  Richmond Valley or Clarence Valley local government areas.

Entries must be in either in .MOV .AVI .MK4 or .MP4 format.

  • No other formats are acceptable

Entries will not be returned, so please submit copies only if submitting by USB stick.

Entry into the festival does not guarantee it will be screened at the screening.

The Judges decisions will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Conditions may vary or change at anytime at the organisers discretion.

By signing the Official Entry Form form you agree to the following:

  • I am ( we are) the legal owner(s) and copyright holders of the production entered into the festival.
  • I/we have read and understand the entry form conditions and agree to abide by them.
  • I / we are fully responsible for using the music, images, voices and locations that appear or are heard on the production, all permission has been granted to the producers of the production to use the music, images, voices and locations that appear in the production.

NYFF organisers and associates will take no responsibility for the material that is presented. All responsibility lies with the producers and owners of the entries.

All entrants give permission for their photographic images and their video production to be broadcast and reproduced in press and promotion and give permission for their images and film production to appear on the NYFF website or YouTube and other platforms and publications such as newspapers and Facebook etc.

Producers are requested to supply digital images of themselves or from their production for press and promotion purposes. Send images to email address below clearly marking which production it is from.

Entrants retain full copyright and ownership of their work.
